HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Nova Southeastern found itself in unfamiliar territory in the 16th minute after Palm Beach Atlantic's Gemma Burrul converted a one-on-one opportunity in front of the net to give the Sailfish the early 1-0 edge.
- The Sharks kept the Palm Beach Atlantic defense on its toes, owning an 11-5 advantage in shots and a favorable 5-1 margin in corner kicks in the opening half. However, it wasn't until the 75th minute when head coach John Constable's club finally equalized on a Monica Orteu strike from the top of the box.
- Immediately following the score, Nova Southeastern maintained its consistent pressure, but would have to wait for extra time before finally begin rewarded. Lucky for them, the Sharks needed less than three minutes of free soccer to finish off the Sailfish thanks to a breakaway goal from Del Stabile that left the Palm Beach Atlantic keeper frozen in her tracks.
- Facing her first real sort of pressure through the early portion of the season, keeper Jordan Lentz tied a career-high with seven saves in the winning effort.
STATS OF THE NIGHT:
- Burrul's goal for Palm Beach Atlantic snapped a 286-minute streak in which the Sharks had gone without trailing this season.
