Sharks Set for Semifinal Showdown with Rollins

Kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Following an opening-round bye during Monday's quarterfinals, the streaking Nova Southeastern women's soccer team will begin Sunshine State Conference Tournament action Thursday at 7 p.m. in a semifinal showdown against Rollins.

The Tars knocked off the Sharks 3-1 in Winter Park, Fla. earlier this regular season, a loss that dropped Nova Southeastern to a pedestrian 2-2 in league play. However, the Sharks have yet to lose since, racking up a record of 5-0-1 to secure the No. 2 seed in this week's tourney.

The recent run has also jolted the Sharks back into talks of another NCAA Tournament berth, having come in at No. 6 in the latest NCAA South Region rankings. Yet, head coach John Constable knows just how massive Thursday's matchup is for his team to remain in the hunt for a fourth consecutive regional bid.

"This is a must-win," said head coach John Constable. "Rollins is solid and beat us comfortably last time out, but we have improved since then. We'll hopefully show that improvement tonight, not only through performance, but end result."

Nova Southeastern has posted a 7-1-1 mark at the NSU Soccer Complex this season, and beat Rollins 3-1 in their most recent meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Sept. 30, 2017.

The winner of Thursday's contest will advance to Sunday's SSC Tournament final, where they'll face the winner of either Barry or Embry-Riddle. For complete coverage of the action, visit the schedule page on NSUSharks.com or follow the Sharks on Twitter @NSU_WSoccer.
