HOW IT HAPPENED:

ST QUARTER | The Sharks wasted no time to take the lead, grabbing an 11-0 edge with a layup by Mikayla Thompson at the 7:13 mark. A pair of free throws by the Cavaliers signified their first points of the game 13 seconds later, before the Sharks took advantage of a 13-8 run, capped with a layup by Cheray Saunders, to close out the first quarter with a 24-10 lead.

ND QUARTER | Concordia was the first to score in the second, before the Sharks responded with a 9-2 run over the next 4:49, taking a 33-14 lead with 5:35 left until the break. A bucket by Maria Bardeeva at the 2:20 mark pushed NSU over the 20 point deficit mark (42-21), as three different players tallied the remaining 11 points of the quarter for a 53-25 lead at halftime.

RD QUARTER | Nova Southeastern jumped out to an 11-0 run to jumpstart the second half, including three-consecutive layups by Claire McMahon to push her over her then career-high 17 points. Concordia managed to create a three-point play off a foul called on McMahon, but that would be the last bucket they scored over the next 4:30 as NSU exploded for another double-digit unanswered run, 13-0, for an overwhelming 77-28 advantage. Throughout the quarter, the Cavaliers tallied just eight points for an 86-33 Shark lead with one quarter remaining.

TH QUARTER | Another strong offense effort was seen in the early parts of the fourth quarter, as NSU outscored CU 14-4 in the first 5:29, grabbing their largest lead of the game, 100-37, and hitting the century mark for the first time since Dec. 19, 2015. A layup by Autumn Giles with 33 seconds remaining on the board signified her new career-high of eight points, while also serving as the final tally for either team.
