Dennis Brings Home SSC Player of the Week Award

NSU point guard averaged 27.5 points per game in two wins

MELBOURNE, Fla. – On the heels of two impressive performances, including a 30-point effort in an upset win over No. 12 Barry, Nova Southeastern point guard David Dennis has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon. The honor marks the fourth of his career.

Dennis was the best player on the floor in the Sharks' SSC opener against the Buccaneers, reaching the 30-point plateau for the fourth time in his Nova Southeastern career. The senior also added six rebounds, five assists and seven steals in 39 minutes of action. Three nights later, Dennis racked up 25 points – 16 in the second half – to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists in a decisive 106-87 victory at Embry-Riddle.

Through the first month of the season, Dennis leads the conference in both scoring (23.8 ppg) and steals (3.4 spg).

One of just two unbeaten remaining in the SSC, NSU will look to stay perfect this Saturday when it travels to face Saint Leo. For complete coverage of the action, follow the Sharks on Twitter @NSU_MBasketball or visit the schedule page on NSUSharks.com.
