HOW IT HAPPENED:
With runners on first and third and one out, Andrew Labosky grounded into a double play but Jake Anchia managed to score on the play, giving the Sharks a 1-0 lead heading into the top of the third inning. Gabe Rodriguez managed to keep one of the most lethal offenses in the country fairly quiet until the fifth inning when he allowed a solo homerun and a two-run dinger, giving the Bobcats a 3-1 lead. Rodriguez would finish with two strikeouts in five innings of work, while allowing three hits.

The Sharks would tie the ballgame in the sixth inning when Brendan Cutting launched his second homerun of the year, a no-doubter to right field, one-hopping into the Miami Dolphins training facility. St. Thomas would steal the lead in the top of the seventh with a solo-shot to left off of the eventual losing pitcher, Kyle Kilbourne. The Sharks would allow three more runs in the eighth inning as Bobcats crossed the plate three more times, extending their lead to 7-3.

The NSU offense was held scoreless for it's last six outs, ending their 12-game win streak.

  • Dylan Harris, Anchia, and Labosky each had two hits on the night.
  • Harris extended his hit streak to 20 games.
  • In nine of Gil Torres' 10 appearances, he has allowed zero earned runs.
