FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – On a beautiful sunny Sunday morning at the AD Griffin Sports Complex, the Nova Southeastern softball team earned a 3-1 victory over the Florida Southern Moccasins. Prior to the game, the Sharks honored its two seniors,
Dana Edmundson and
Dominique Sprengers.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
TOP 1ST: With two outs, Jenna Weldon singled to right field, scoring Jessica Trana for an early 1-0 FSC lead.
BOTTOM 3RD: With
Daniela Bautista at second,
Dominique Sprengers sent an RBI-single to left field to plate Bautista and knot the ballgame 1-1.
BOTTOM 5TH: Leading off the inning with a double to deep center,
Keeley Mayers advanced to third on a single by
Megan Maloney. A bunt laid down by
Kayla Kight plated Mayers and a throwing error by the Mocs allowed the runners to advance before
Kailynn Blackwood had a sacrifice bunt of her own to score Maloney and give NSU a 3-1 advantage.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- The Sharks tallied four hits in the season finale, as Sprengers, Maloney and Bautista were 1-for-2 and Mayers was 1-for-3.
- Storrer picked up her 14th win of the season, pitching the full game and allowing just one run on six hits.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Edmundson finishes her Shark career with her name inked in the record books for career-high batting average, slugging percentage, home runs and stolen bases.
