HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Sharks needed less than five minutes to get on the board, and it was a thing of beauty. Beginning with keeper Titouan Le Roux, Nova Southeastern pieced together six quality passes, including a beautiful touch on a through ball from Darwin Lom, to spring Loibl on the left side of the box. Loibl returned the pass back to Lom, who then found Ignacio Goya, who made one move around the keeper to put it home for his first score of the year
- Nova Southeastern nearly made it 2-0 in the 24th minute when Lom curved a beautiful strike off the top of the right post. The Sharks would soon cash in, though, as Aleks Berg found a crashing Loibl, who made a few moves to shake off the defender before depositing one home in the 27th minute of action to double up the lead
- A powerful throw-in by Juanchi Nunez in the 32nd minute found Darwin Lom just outside of the box. The senior then turned and sniped a left-footed missile to the top right corner to extend the margin to 3-0.
- On a floating corner kick from Jan Luca Ahillen in the 50th minute, Loibl again found himself in the action, carving out position as he headed home his second goal of the game.
- The Eagles erased the clean sheet in the 88th minute off a free kick, but could do little else to spoil the overall strong display by the Sharks.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Wednesday's 4-1 win marks the fourth straight for the Sharks, and eighth in the last nine games dating back to last season.
- The victory now improves the Sharks to 11-12-3 all-time versus Embry-Riddle on the pitch.
- With two more goals Wednesday, Loibl now ranks second in the Sunshine State Conference with five overall on the year.
- Combining last Saturday's offensive effort with tonight's, the Sharks ripped off eight goals over a span of 109:42.
STATS OF THE NIGHT:
- The Nova Southeastern defense did not allow a shot on goal in the first half, and surrendered only two on target throughout the entire match.
- The Sharks finished with just one more total shot than the Eagles, yet capitalized by scoring on four of their six attempts on frame.
- Nova Southeastern racked up double-digit corner kicks for the second time this season.
