HOW IT HAPPENED:
SET 1 | Tied at 4-4 in the first set, the Eagles used back-to-back kills to take the lead and never look back. Later on at 19-13, the Sharks offense caught fire and rattled off four straight points to come within two, 19-17. Embry-Riddle halted the rally quickly with a three-point run of their own, eventually ending up on top, 25-21.
SET 2 | Early in the second set, the Sharks took advantage of back-to-back errors by the Eagles to take a 3-2 edge. That would be NSU's only lead of the set, however, as ERAU took off on an 8-1 run to take a 10-4 lead and force Nova Southeastern to use one of their timeouts. Down 20-14, the Sharks took off on a 5-0 run, including three kills by
Gabby Bauch, to cut the deficit to just one, 20-19. ERAU then responded with a 5-0 run of their own, taking the second set by a score of 25-19.
SET 3 | The first half of the final set was neck-and-neck, seeing 11 ties and four lead changes, before at 14-14, Embry-Riddle took advantage of NSU errors to take the lead, 17-14.
