HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Nova Southeastern pressured Rollins early, outshooting the Tars by a 7-1 margin in the opening 23:13. However, a costly foul in the 34th minute resulted in a converted penalty kick as Rollins grabbed the 1-0 lead.
  • The Tars doubled their advantage to 2-0 in the 40th minute on a goal by Sarah Buckley, which is where the score would remain entering the break.
  • Rollins carried its momentum into the early moments of the second half, and tacked on a third goal in the 53rd minute when Kathryn O'Brien linked up with Chynna McGirt.
  • Liz Haizlip erased the shutout in the 84th minute, yet the junior's first goal of the season proved to be too little too late.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • Following Saturday's loss, Nova Southeastern is now 1-4 in true road games, as opposed to 5-1 at home and 1-0 in neutral-site matches.
  • Haizlip becomes the 12th different player to score at least one goal for the Sharks this season.
 STATS OF THE NIGHT:
  • Even in the losing effort, the Sharks still held a 10-9 advantage in shots and 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
  • Emma Heikkila and Jemma House combined for seven of Nova Southeastern's 10 shots.
  • Freshman keeper Natalie Robayna collected three saves before being replaced by Shannon Hearty in the 79th minute.
