Zinaich Repeats as USBWA National Player of the Week

Redshirt-junior earns second straight award after 39-point performance against No. 7 Florida Southern

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – For the second time in as many weeks, Nova Southeastern forward Connor Zinaich has been recognized as the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Division II Player of the Week, spanning games played from Dec. 29-30.

Fresh off the NCAA-mandated, 10-day layoff, Zinaich carried the fifth-ranked Sharks past No. 7 Florida Southern thanks to a massive 39-point, seven-rebound effort. The Hagerstown, Md. native connected on 15-of-23 from the field, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, in the 117-95 victory, while also adding four steals on the defensive end.
Zinaich's 39 points are the most by any SSC player in a single game this season, and the most for any Nova Southeastern player since Chris Page tallied a program-record 41 points against Barry on Feb. 13, 2016.

Zinaich currently leads the nation's highest scoring team with 19.7 points per game.

The Sharks will play host to the Eckerd Tritons this Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. For complete coverage of the action, follow the Sharks on Twitter @NSU_MBasketball or visit the schedule page on NSUSharks.com.
