Sharks, Spartans Battle to Scoreless Draw

NSU collects 10th shutout of the season Saturday

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – In a match dominated by both defenses, Nova Southeastern and Tampa tussled to a scoreless, double-overtime draw in front of a packed house Saturday night at the NSU Soccer Complex. Sophomore keeper Natalie Robayna recorded a season-high five saves in the effort, running the Sharks' record to 4-0-1 in Sunshine State Conference play.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • Robayna earned her first start of the season in net, improving her overall record to 4-0-1 on the year.
  • Now with 10 shutouts through 11 matches this season, NSU reduced its nation-best goals-against average to a minuscule 0.09.
  • Saturday marked the first time NSU had been held scoreless during the regular season since facing Tampa on Sept. 15, 2018.
 STATS OF THE NIGHT:
  • Six different players accounted for NSU's six shots in the match, with Olivia Graham, Dejah Holman and Chama Silva tallying the three on goal.
  • The Sharks were limited to only one shot throughout the combined 20 minutes of extra time.
  • Tampa held a slight edge in corner kicks on Saturday, tallying six as opposed to the Sharks' five.
