WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Nova Southeastern would kindly prefer to not take any trips to Palm Beach Atlantic in the near future. The Sharks battled all the way back from a 2-0 deficit in the second half, equalizing on a
Juanchi Nunez score in the 74
th minute, only to have PBA respond in the 87
th minute to send NSU to yet another gut-wrenching defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Failing to close out halves proved costly for the Sharks on Wednesday. Following a fairly even first 42:54 of the match, PBA gained momentum just before the break on a penalty kick converted by Guillermo Deal.
- The Sailfish would need only 59 seconds at the start of the second half to double their lead, too, as Marc Hebbeker linked up with Cadu Cusatis to make it a 2-0 margin in favor of the home team.
- As they've proven on two separate occasions, though, already this season, 2-0 leads aren't always safe against the Sharks. That was the case once again Wednesday, as NSU pulled back within a score on an own goal in the 63rd minute.
- Still trailing 2-1 in the 67th minute, head coach Matt Watts inserted Nunez into the lineup, and was rewarded with a welcomed spark from the sophomore. On the receiving end of a string of passes by Milos Christoforou and Aleks Berg, Nunez converted his first goal of the season to knot the match up at 2-2.
- A strong save by keeper Titouan Le Roux in the 86th minute kept the 2-2 game intact. However, the Sharks were unable to clear the ensuing corner kick by the Sailfish before Twan Nieboer, with his back towards the goal, flicked the game-winner into the back of the net to prevent NSU from earning the result.
STATS OF THE NIGHT:
- Le Roux set a new NSU career-high with nine saves in the effort.
- The Sharks won the corner kick battle by a margin of 9-5.
