Sharks Make History, Beat Montevallo to Earn Program’s First-Ever NCAA Tournament Win

Goals by Christophe and Heikkila send NSU to Round of 32

JACKSON, Miss. – Weather pushed back kickoff 90 minutes and forced a relocation of the match. But not even that could slow fifth-seeded Nova Southeastern in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, as first-half goals by Emma Heikkila and Hannah Christophe powered the Sharks to an eventual 2-1 victory over No. 4 seed Montevallo on Friday. The win marked the program's first-ever in the NCAA Tournament, and now sends the Sharks to the Round of 32, where they'll meet host Mississippi College this Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
