HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Tars controlled possession to begin the game, attempting each of the game's first four shots over the initial 17 minutes. Isidoro Garcia attempted the first shot for the Sharks in the 19th minute, but he missed high.
  • Rollins broke the tie with its first goal in the 32nd minute. The Tars then needed just two and a half minutes to add another – the latter proving to be the game's final score.
  • The Sharks tallied one shot, a Curtis Thorn attempt, in between the two goals, followed by another wide attempt just before the intermission.
  • NSU matched Rollins with six shot attempts in the second half, yet was shut out for only the third time this season.
STATS OF THE NIGHT:
  • The Tars held the overall advantage in shots, 14-10.
  • The Sharks notched one shot on goal in each half, while the Tars finished with six in total.
  • The Sharks earned seven corner kicks, five of which came in the final 45 minutes, compared to five all game by Rollins.
  • Thorn, along with Henrik Berg and Michael Lawrence, led the team with two shots each.
  • Brian Lopez started for the Sharks in net before being replaced by David Gassner after halftime. The appearance marked just the second appearance of Gassner's collegiate career, while his 45 minutes played and four saves each set new career highs.
