FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Newly-risen to No. 6 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national standings, the Nova Southeastern tennis squad (14-0) confronted the challenge from No. 36 Sonoma State head on, pulling out a 6-1 victory on Thursday at the NSU Tennis Complex to keep the Sharks' streak rolling.
Reeling off 14 straight, the Sharks are running on the longest streak for NSU since 2015-16, while also producing the best start for the program since 2014-15. The Sharks are also making their presence known in the national player rankings, with three players in singles and one doubles pair represented.
Doubles
- In No. 2 doubles, freshman Natalie Espinal and junior Sarah Wardenburg were the first to the finish line, topping Clarisa Colling and Carolina Alfonsin to give the Sharks the upper hand on a 6-3 win.
- Junior Isabella Lowrey and sophomore Chantal Nosievici followed with a 6-3 victory of their own in the third pairs, moving past Jenna DeTurk and Hannah Highsmith to push the doubles point in NSU's favor and place the Sharks on the winning track.

From Coach Doug Neagle
"This was one of those matches where the overall score doesn't tell the story," Neagle said. "Sonoma is a team that fights and we had to earn every point today. Great fight from both teams today."
Up Next: The Sharks will face another huge test this weekend, this time in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) play, traveling to No. 3 Saint Leo on Sunday. The Lions boast a 9-2 record with only losses to Division I Navy and SSC foe No. 5 Lynn and have remained third nationally since January.
