FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 7 Nova Southeastern tennis team (19-3, 7-3 SSC) scrapped out a loss on Tuesday to close the 2019 regular season at No. 2 Barry (19-1, 9-1 SSC) on the courts at the Buccaneer Tennis Center. Although the Sharks suffered a sweep at the hands of the two-time defending national champions, two singles matches went to three sets and another required a tiebreaker to be decided.
Doubles
- Dropping only their fourth team doubles point of the year, all three doubles flights finished 6-3 in Barry's favor.
Singles
- Down the stretch in the sixth flight, freshman Caitlyn Khan battled Aleksandra Buczynsk to a 6-4, 6-3 loss.
- In No. 4 singles, junior Sarah Wardenburg sent the second set against No. 39 ITA Julie Razafindranaly to tiebreakers, falling 7-2 in the 6-2, 7-6 loss.
- In the fourth flight, Sophomore Chantal Nosievici stretched No. 61 ITA Verena Schmid to three sets, bouncing back from a 6-4 first set to win the second 6-1, but dropping a 10-5 third set.
- Sophomore Ivana Djordjevic also went to three with Hannah Seizer in No. 5 singles, narrowly dropping set one, 7-5, rallying for a 7-5 win in the second and falling by a slim 10-8 in the third.

Up Next: Once the brackets are locked in, the Sharks will next travel to Bradenton's IMG Academy for the Sunshine State Conference Championships. Slotted as the No. 4 seed, and would be paired with No. 5 in the top bracket if the current standings hold. Dates for the event will be Friday, April 26th - Sunday, April 28th.
