HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Sharks peppered Tusculum early and often, recording 15 of their 29 shots in the first 45 minutes of action, and managed to climb in front at the 11:01 mark following a pass from Heikkila to Holman.
- Heikkila later set up another score in the 28th minute, this time having her initial shot cleaned up by Holman to extend the lead to 2-0.
- With the Pioneers searching for any sort of momentum, Holman and the Sharks kept up the pressure, as the Augusta, Ga. native needed only 11:58 into the second half to cap the hat trick.
- After having a handful of scoring chances turned away, Heikkila finally cashed in with her second goal in as many matches on a feed from Hannah Christophe.
- The Sharks still weren't done, either, as Bonenclark added the exclamation mark a mere 74 seconds later to polish off a Tusculum side that knocked off Barry just 48 hours prior.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- By racking up six points in Sunday's win, Holman becomes the second Nova Southeastern player to reach double-digit points already this season with 11 overall.
- The 5-0 victory avenged last season's season-opening, 3-2 defeat at Tusculum.
STATS OF THE NIGHT:
- The Sharks held a 29-6 advantage in shots, and have now outshot their opponents by a combined 162-13 margin on the year.
- Keepers Shannon Hearty and Natalie Robayna tallied a save apiece in the effort, combining on the shutout with freshman Rachel Conomea.
- Nova Southeastern also won the corner kick battle, collecting eight in the match as opposed to just two by the Pioneers.
