ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Sharks Volleyball team began its brief two-game road trip on Friday evening with a Sunshine State Conference match-up against Eckerd. NSU continued its winning ways, earning the program's tenth consecutive win in 2021 and extending its winning streak to 16 – dating back to 2019.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Sharks opened the match on a 4-0 run with Marianna Fiocco, Julia Bernardes and Alex Psoma all recorded kills.
- Elizabeth Price sparked a 5-0 rally for NSU midway through the first set, as Nova Southeastern took a 15-7 lead over the Tritons.
- During the run, Nova Southeastern received points from a block assist courtesy of Psoma and Brittany Landrum, kills from Psoma and Landrum and a point from Jovana Bulatovic.
- Back-to-back errors from Eckerd gave the Sharks a 22-11 advantage, before NSU claimed the set victory 25-14.
- The second set opened as a back-and-forth affair, with six combined ties before the score was even at 9-9.
- Psoma continued her superb effort in the match with a service ace to give the Sharks a 13-11 advantage.
- Tied at 16-16, the Sharks rallied for four consecutive points taking a 20-16 lead over the Tritons.
- Fiocco sealed the set victory for NSU with a kill, as Nova Southeastern took the second set 25-19.
- NSU opened the third set on a 7-1 run, with four points coming from Bernardes, as EC called a timeout.
- Following back-to-back Triton service aces, NSU responded with four consecutive points to take a 14-5 lead.
- Preslee Brooksbank added a service ace of her own to give Nova Southeastern a 20-8 advantage in the third set.
- Bernardes and Fiocco completed the eighth sweep of the 2021 season for NSU with a block, as the Sharks won 25-14.
