FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. – Prior to tonight's matchup, Nova Southeastern Athletics was proud to recognize the 2022 Men's Soccer Senior Class. This group has been one of the most successful classes in the history of the men's soccer program at Nova Southeastern, being the core that established NSU men's soccer on the national stage. NSU Athletics honored fifteen seniors, Manuel Cukaj, Tobias Pellio, Nick Brisevac, Floris Van Nijnanten, Giovanni Ciocca Vasino, Farid Sar-Sar, Juanchi Nunez, Manu Schwarz, Aleks Berg, Alberto Rentero, Michael Lawrence, Mikey Reid, Christian Gorski, Andrea Franchetto, and Milos Christoforou. Despite their best efforts, the Nova Southeastern Sharks dropped tonight's match against the Maine Fort Kent Bengals 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
· Both defenses made their presence felt early, locking down both offenses from any chances of scoring.
· The Sharks saw some chances later in the first half with Christian Gorski firing a shot on goal, but had it swatted away by the Bengals goalie. Aleks Berg, Paul Boos, and Michael Lawrence also took shot attempts, but were unable to get them on goal.
· In the 37th minute, the Bengals were able to sneak one by Eduardo D'Avino, to take a 1-0 lead right before the break.
· In the 55th minute, Juanchi Nunez had an opportunity, but was once again saved by the Bengals' goalkeeper.
· In the 70th minute, the Sharks were mere inches away from a goal when Christian Gorski's free kick went right off the crossbar. Andrea Franchetto was able to regroup and fire another shot on goal but was kicked away by the Bengals' goalkeeper.
· Farid Sar-Sar tried one more attempt to tie the game late in the 83rd minute, but his shot was just a little off.
