FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University women's basketball team picked up its third win of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Flagler College 96-56. The Sharks were led by a career-high 21 points from sophomore guard Sarei McGill, as well as four other double-digit scorers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half – Madison Frederick started the scoring with a three-pointer, giving the Sharks a 3-0 lead just over 45 seconds into the first quarter. The Saints kept it close throughout the first quarter, but scores by Kyarrah Grant, Kyannah Grant, McGill and Alexus Bryant gave the Sharks a 17-11 advantage at the end of the first. McGill and Bryant started the second quarter off hot, scoring six straight points to put NSU up 23-13. The Saints went on a 6-0 run, but a layup and free throw from Frederick put the momentum back with the Sharks. In the last four minutes of the half, McGill (5 points), Mackenzie Steele (5), India Shepherd (2), Bryant (2) and Zeyno Seren (2) did their part in a 16-6 run that gave NSU a 42-25 lead at the break.
Second Half – The strong momentum followed into the third quarter, as the Sharks took a 64-31 lead by way of a 22-6 run in the first seven minutes. NSU kept the pressure on Flagler and finished the third up 74-40. Hailey Conley started off the fourth quarter strong, scoring 12 of the next 14 points to put the Sharks up 88-44. NSU coasted to the finish line with Shepherd, Mia Jones and Delaney Wolfe contributing a few more points to give the Sharks a 40-point win.
STATS OF THE NIGHT
· McGill's 21 points mark a new career high.
· The Sharks' 96 points ties for 10th all-time in program history, and the highest points scored since Dec. 18, 2018.
