WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – An opening quarter in which the Nova Southeastern Women's Basketball team scored 33 points, sparked the Sharks to a dominant 97-58 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic in Sunshine State Conference action.
Mackenzie Steele (27 points) and
Madison Frederick (23) combined to nearly outscore PBA themselves.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter – After just a minute of play, Nova Southeastern was able to open a 6-0 lead over PBA, as Frederick scored each of the points. Steele knocked down her first of five, three-pointers and put the Sharks ahead 14-5. Steele and
Hailey Conley hit back-to-back threes and extended the NSU advantahe to 24-7 over Palm Beach Atlantic. The Sharks led 37-13 after the first quarter of play.
Second Quarter – Steele opened the second quarter by adding two more three pointers to her total and put the Sharks lead at 30 points over the Sailfish (43-13) with just over eight minutes remaining in the half. Nova Southeastern went into the halftime break maintaining its 30-point advantage, leading PBA 59-29 at the break.
Third Quarter – Steele recorded five consecutive points for NSU, as Nova Southeastern led 66-33 near the midway point of the quarter. The Sharks outscored PBA 23-13 during the third quarter, as the Sunshine State Conference matchup went into the final quarter with NSU leading 82-42.
Fourth Quarter – 13-of-15 points scored by NSU in the final quarter were scored by the bench, as NSU was able to involve its reserves in the fourth, as the Sharks sealed the 97-48 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic.
STATS OF THE NIGHT
This is the Sharks second-highest margin of victory (39 points) on the season. NSU defeated Flagler 96-56 on 11/19.
The trio of Steele (27), Frederick (23), and Conley (17) combined to outscore Palm Beach Atlantic 67-58.
