FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Nova Southeastern Women's Basketball closed out their 2022 slate of games with a resounding, 107-68 victory over Florida Tech on Thursday evening from the Rick Case Arena. Seven Sharks scored in double figures, including Madison Frederick – who scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed a season-best 12 rebounds for her first double-double of her Sharks career.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter – Hailey Conley led the Sharks on a game-opening 13-0 run, as the graduate student recorded the first eight points for NSU and added a steal. The Nova Southeastern defense forced turnovers on six consecutive possessions for Florida Tech to begin the contest. At the midway point of the quarter, Sarei McGill converted an and-one opportunity, putting the Sharks ahead 16-4. Kyannah Grant made a lay-up, as the Sharks extended their early lead to 25-4. NSU finished the first quarter leading 33-10.
Second Quarter – Nova Southeastern continued its momentum and started the second quarter on a 7-2 run, which featured points from India Shepherd, Zeyno Seren and Frederick. Mackenzie Steele scored eight consecutive points for NSU, knocking down a pair of three-pointers. The Sharks went into the halftime break with a 58-35 advantage over Florida Tech.
Third Quarter – Kyannah Grant and Frederick each hit a three-pointer in the early moments of the second half, putting the Sharks ahead 64-37. Frederick added another three-point make as the Sharks lead went over 30-points for the first time on the evening. Nova Southeastern totaled 35 points in the third quarter, passing the 30-point mark in a quarter for the second time during the game.
Fourth Quarter – The large advantage gave the Sharks an opportunity to get minutes to the entire team, as ten NSU players recorded a basket in the contest. Nova Southeastern crossed the 100-point threshold for the first time on the season and the first time since defeating Lynn 100-57 on January 16, 2019.

Seven Sharks, including four starters, recorded at least 10 points: Madison Frederick (20), Sarei McGill (17), Mackenzie Steele (16), Hailey Conley (15), Zeyno Seren (11), Kyannah Grant (10) and India Shepherd (10).
NSU's defense was tenacious throughout the game, forcing 19 steals and scoring 40 points off turnovers. Seren led the way for Nova Southeastern, recording five steals.
Frederick made an impact all over the floor for the Sharks, scoring 20 points, while grabbing 12 rebounds and dishing six assists.
