HOW IT HAPPENED
Pastore got the Sharks on the board first, hitting his fourth home run of the season to give NSU an early 1-0 lead over Barry. Three straight walks to open the bottom of the third loaded the bases for the Sharks designated hitter. Pastore lined a bases clearing double down the left-field line, clearing the bases and putting NSU in front 4-0.
Cooper Omans kept Barry off the scoreboard for the first four innings, and added two strikeouts to his line in the top of the fourth. Nova Southeastern plated four more runs in the bottom of the innings, as Alejandro Macario, Adam Smith, Pastore, and Gregory Delgado all added RBI singles to give NSU an 8-0 lead.
Barry scored three in the top of fifth inning, cutting the NSU lead to 8-3. The Sharks immediately responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth, pushing the lead to 11-3. Kyle Morse entered in relief for Omans in the sixth and struck out the first batter he faced but was unable to finish the frame as Head Coach Laz Gutierrez called upon Lucas Reid to finish the inning.
Barry plated two more runs in the top of the seventh inning, putting the score at 11-8. Ryan Bradarich and Michael Dillion locked down the eighth and ninth innings for the Sharks, with Dillion recording his sixth save, as NSU earned the victory over Barry.
