MELBOURNE, Fla. - Six Sharks from the Nova Southeastern Men's Swimming team were named to the All-Sunshine State Conference Swimming teams. NSU placed three on the first-team, two on the second-team, and one honorable mention. Overall, 18 student-athletes were selected to the teams. Voting was conducted among the Sunshine State Conference's swimming coaches.
Luca Alessandrini headlines the First-Team honorees for the Sharks. The freshman was named the Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Meet at the SSC Championships recently. He is the fourth Shark to earn the conference Swimmer of the Meet honor, and the first since 2016-17. Joining Alessandrini on the First-Team are Steven Aimable and Jarryd Baxter.
Spencer Hohm makes an All-SSC team for the third time in his career, being named to the Second-Team in 2021-22, after receiving first-team honors in 2019-20 and being selected as an honorable mention in 2018-19. Anton Mueller also was named to the Second-Team, while Olle Williamsson was tabbed as an honorable mention.
Coach of the Year, Swimmer of the Year, and Freshman of the Year will be voted on by league coaches following the NCAA Division II championship. March 9th - Saturday, March 12th at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. The NCAA recently announced championship selections and seeding. Sixty swimmers and 34 relay teams qualified from the SSC.
