HOW IT HAPPENED:
BOT 5
th | Saturday's contest began as another pitchers' duel, and had the looks of yet another extra-inning game, before the Tars' Jaden Walker broke a scoreless tie with a two-run homer in which the ball bounced out of the glove of NSU centerfielder
Sydney Lageyre and over the wall.
TOP 6
th | The first two NSU batters would be retired in order in the sixth as Rollins starter Ashley Worrell still had yet to allow a hit. However, both the no-hitter and shutout would be erased after Smith cut the deficit in half following a solo home run – her first of the season – to leftfield. Lageyre prolonged the inning with a single through the right side of the infield and moved into scoring position after a Langwell walk that ended the day for Worrell. In came new Rollins pitcher Emily MacMullen and out went a three-run homer for Williams, whose first blast of the season all the sudden handed NSU a 4-2 edge.

th | After NSU starter
Ashley Connor posted a shut-down inning, the NSU offense kept its foot on the gas in the seventh. Aided by a pair of hit batters, the Sharks loaded the bases with one out on an
Emerson Morris single. A Smith sacrifice fly extended the lead to 5-2 before reaching 6-2 on a Lageyre RBI-single up the middle. Five pitches later, Langwell broke the game wide open with a three-run shot to left center to put the exclamation point on the much-needed victory.
