NSU Shuts Out Lynn in SSC Action

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. – After a defensive battle for the first 20 minutes of the first half, the Sharks were able to find some offense in the next 25. After goals from Luana Grabias, Louise Matsgard, and Katharina Jüllich, the Sharks defense went to work and finished the job. Nova Southeastern was able to take down Lynn 3-0 in the Sharks' home opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The match started with both teams' defenses being completely shut down, not allowing either offense much chance to score.
  • In the 21st minute, Luana Grabias was able to break the tie and get one into the back of the net. 1-0 Sharks.
  • After getting a beautiful pass from Jordyn Pitter, Louise Matsgard was able to sneak one past Lynn's goalkeeper, making it 2-0 Sharks in the 36th minute.
  • Stefane Rosa came up big early in the second half, making three big saves for the Sharks, holding their two-goal lead.
  • In the 74th minute, Katharina Jüllich added on to the Sharks lead with a goal of her own. 3-0 Sharks.
  • Lily Truong, Chama Silva, and Dejah Holman all had great opportunity to also add on to the Sharks' lead, but Lynn's goalkeeper knocked them all away.
  • Stefane Rosa recorded seven saves, completely shutting down Lynn, as she blanked the Knights for her second shutout of the season.
