FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A last-minute goal from Haley Mettrick brought the Sharks within one, but unfortunately it was not enough. Nova Southeastern falls to Embry-Riddle 2-1 Saturday night from the NSU Soccer Stadium.

The Eagles snuck one by Kirra Polley in the 7th minute, giving them a 1-0 lead.

Polley faced several shots in the first half but denied the Eagles' chances.

After being awarded a penalty kick, the Eagles were able to get one by Polley, increasing their lead to 2-0.

In the closing seconds of the match, a perfect pass from Sofia Suarez set up Haley Mettrick for a goal, bringing the Sharks within one.

The Sharks gave intense effort in the closing seconds but were unable to complete the comeback, dropping tonight's SSC showdown against the Eagles 2-1.
