FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Softball team bounced back in game two and split a pair of matches with the Colorado School of Mines on Sunday afternoon, picking up their seventh win of the season. The Sharks fell short in game one, dropping the first matchup 3-2. In game two, late runs in the 6th inning ultimately propelled NSU to a 6-4 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
TOP 1st | The Orediggers batted in the first run of the game thanks to an RBI double.
BOT 1st | Alexis Smith got it started for NSU, after being hit by the pitch and advancing to first, Smith stole for second during the next at-bat. Smith wasn't done yet, stealing for third to put herself in scoring position. Langwell grounded out but not before Smith was able to put the tying run on the board.
TOP 4th | With two runners on, the Mines singled and brought the second Oredigger run across home plate.
TOP 5th | A single to left field allowed the Mines to increase the lead to 3-1.
BOT 6th | With a runner on 2nd and 3rd, Alyssa Drogemuller's sacrifice fly allowed Williams to score, cutting NSU's deficit to one.
BOT 7th | The Sharks were unable to bring another run across home plate, dropping game one 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
TOP 1st | The Mines scored on a single to right field, giving them the early lead.
TOP 4th | The Orediggers were able to score three runs, thanks to a single, an error, and a fielder's choice, taking a four-run advantage.
BOT 5th | Alexis Smith walked up to the plate and saw herself in a bases-loaded situation as she did yesterday. It was Déjà vu again, Smith tripled and batted in all three runners, bringing the Sharks within one run. Shortly after, the Sharks had the bases loaded again, and Madison Fine was hit by a pitch, advancing her to 1st and bringing the tying run across the plate.
BOT 6th | Samantha Burke started the inning with a single to get on base for NSU. Alexi Watkins grounded out in the next at-bat, but Burke was able to advance to second base. Smith singled, and shortly after, she stole for second and the Sharks now had a runner at second and third. Burke scored on a flyout to center field and Williams doubled in the ensuing at-bat. Which brought Smith across home plate and gave NSU the 6-4 lead, proving to be the last run of the game and sealing the victory for NSU.
