DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The 24th ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks Volleyball team was defeated in Sunshine State Conference action by the Embry-Riddle Eagles on Tuesday evening. The loss snapped the Sharks' five-match winning streak.

• The Sharks and Eagles battled back-and-forth in the opening points of the first set, as Kate Mihacevich tied the frame at 5-5 with a kill. 
• NSU was unable to muster much momentum in the remainder of the set, dropping the opening frame 25-11.
• In the second set, a block from Olivia Aniol sparked a brief 3-1 rally by NSU, giving the Sharks a 7-5 lead.
• Later in the frame, Aniol led another rally for Nova Southeastern. The junior tallied back-to-back kills, before Mihacevich added a point and Taylor Stockman recorded a service ace to give NSU a 14-13 advantage. 
• The Eagles claimed the second set 25-19 over Nova Southeastern, as the Sharks fell behind 2-0 in the match. 
• Embry-Riddle held the early lead over NSU in the third set, but a 4-1 rally by the Sharks - featuring points from Brittany Landrum, Elizabeth Price and Stockman - tied the frame at 8-8.
• Embry-Riddle took and held the lead the rest of the set, winning the final frame 25-19 as the Sharks dropped their first Sunshine State Conference match of the season.

Head Coach Kacie Ehinger - "Tough night. We were unable to get our passing game going early and our offense struggled because of it. Embry-Riddle played a disciplined game and dictated a lot of what happened. We look forward to learning from this and coming back home this weekend."
