FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern men's soccer team lost in penalty kicks (4-3) on Monday night in the SSC Quarterfinals against the Tampa Spartans.

• Both teams hunkered down defensively in the first half, not allowing a goal on either side. 

• The Sharks were on the attack in the second half, but UT's defense held strong, holding the Sharks scoreless and forcing overtime in Fort Lauderdale.  

• The defensive stalemate continued as neither side could break the deadlock, leading to penalty kicks.  

• Kevin Rubaszewski got it started with a laser to the back of the net. 

• The Spartans followed with a make of their own before missing their second attempt. 

• NSU held a 3-2 advantage heading into the last five players. 

• The Spartans then swiped away the Sharks last two attempts while also converting on their final two attempts to secure the victory.
