How it Happened
  • Justin Wachs blasted his second home run of the season in the bottom of the first inning, quickly giving NSU a 1-0 lead.
  • Following a single by Henry Wallen, Boris Pena launched his fourth home run of the season, extending the Sharks advantage to 3-0.
  • Rollins responded with a three runs in the top of the second inning.
  • NSU added three more runs in the bottom of the second inning, as after Zeth Rodriguez worked a walk and Wachs was hit by a pitch, Wallen singled through the left-side of the infield and drove in Rodriguez.
  • Wachs later scored on a wild pitch and the Sharks capped off the three-run frame with a RBI groundout from Bryan Loriga, putting the score at 6-3.
  • That was all the offense Rothermel needed, throwing four consecutive shutout innings, earning both a quality start and his fourth victory of the season.
  • Keyler Gonzalez earned the first save of his collegiate career, tossing three shutout innings and striking out three.

Coach's Corner
Head Coach Adrian Morales - "Our offense today set the tone early with some big swings from Justin Wachs and Boris Peña and some really tough quality at-bats. Collin Rothermel was tough again. He gave up three in the second then four shutout innings allowing us to only us to only use one bullpen arm. Keyler was a bulldog for us, as well. Throwing three shutout innings to secure the win."
