#15 Sharks Drop Doubleheader Against Tars

WINTER PARK, Fla. - The #15 ranked NSU Softball team dropped two games on Saturday afternoon against the Rollins Tars from MLK Stadium. NSU fell 6-5 in game one and 5-4 in game two.

How it Happened

TOP 1st – Brenna Lokeinsky tacked on two runs for NSU with a single to left center. 

BOT 2nd – The Tars answered with a run of their own off a throwing error by NSU. 

TOP 5th – NSU extended their lead off a wild pitch and an RBI from Aubrey Hutzler, taking a commanding 4-1 advantage. 

BOT 5th – Rollins took their first lead of the game, scoring four runs to take a 5-4 lead. 

TOP 6th – Kerstyn Shaw tied the game with an RBI single up the middle. 

BOT 9th – The Tars hit a walk off home run to secure the 6-5 victory.

How it Happened

TOP 1st – NSU tacked on three quick runs to take the early 3-0 lead. 

BOT 1st – Rollins answered with four runs to push themselves ahead 4-3. 

BOT 2nd – The Tars put another run on the board, taking a two-run advantage. 

TOP 6th – NSU brought their deficit within one run after an RBI from Lokeinsky but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback, dropping game two 5-4. 

What's Next

NSU will return to action Friday, March 8th as they head to Melbourne, FL to compete at the USSSA Space Coast Games. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
