FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - After a stellar 2023 campaign in her lone season as a Shark, Maja Henriksson joins the professional ranks, signing a contract with the Dallas Trinity.  

"Being at NSU has not only helped me to reach my goals, but also to develop as a player and most importantly as a person," said Heriksson. "NSU has the best support system I ever experienced, and I am so happy and thankful for my time here. I want to send a big thank you to my amazing teammates, my athletic trainer Chelsea and my coaches - Amy, James, Cam, and Steve. Thank you for always pushing me and for being there when I faced adversity. I am very proud and excited for this new opportunity and can't wait to get started!" 

Henriksson played a vital role in the Sharks success during the 2023 season. The Swede started in every game she appeared in, finishing the season with four goals and four assists while also earning an All-SSC Third Team selection. Henriksson's best outing of her 2023 campaign came against Alabama Huntsville where she led the Sharks to a 4-2 victory, pouring in two goals and dishing out one assist.  

"Maja is a player that came to NSU and changed the standard of the program overnight," said Head Coach Amy Vaughan. "Myself and the coaching staff are extremely proud of her, there's no doubt in our mind that this next step will be a successful one. She's faced plenty of adversity during the season, so for her dream to come true, we could not be happier. She came to us looking for a new challenge, looking to take the next step in her career, she's walking proof that investing and believing in yourself always comes through. Congratulations Maja, you deserve it, the door is always open at NSU."
