How it Happened

First Half – The Sharks had a poor start to the game, shooting 2/19 in the first quarter. Aubrey Stupp (9) and Alana Ellis (8) kept the Sharks in the game as they started to catch fire for them in the second quarter. NSU kept their foot on the gas pedal, cutting the FSC's lead down to two to make it 27-25 at the half.

Second Half-  As the second half got underway, NSU's offense began taking control of the game. Stupp had eight points in the third quarter to help the Sharks take a lead for the first time in the game with two minutes to go in the third. NSU would hold a 44-43 lead over Florida Southern into the fourth. The Sharks kept their foot on the gas pedal as they got off to a quick 8-0 run in the first minute of the fourth quarter to go up nine. The Mocs then countered with a quick 7-0 run to cut the lead down to one with 3:49 to go. NSU's defense began to make some key stops as Jess Moors led the way with five massive steals. Stupp continued her dominant performance, sinking big free throws at the end of the game to clinch tonight's SSC win over Florida Southern.

Quotes

Head Coach LeAnn Freeland-Curry - "We got off to a slow start today offensively. I was happy to see our players' grit to chip away and win the last three quarters! Aubrey was huge today on offense, and Payton did a great job getting her the ball. Overall, a great team win."

Aubrey Stupp- "Tonight was a tough one! It was far from pretty, but we got the job done by the end of the day. I am beyond proud of our grit tonight."
