SAINT LEO, Fla. -- The 13th-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks carried their momentum from Senior Day into the weekend, scoring a 4-1 road win against the Saint Leo University Lions. The Sharks were aggressive from the outset, scoring three first-half goals in a seven-minute span to go into the locker room up 3-1 before scoring another late goal to put the game out of reach. How it Happened
  • At the 23:33 mark of the first half, Ella Niemela got the Sharks on the board, recording her second goal of the season to give the Sharks an early 1-0 lead.
  • Hernandez was next to get in on the action, scoring at the 25:17 mark--not even a full two minutes later-- on a setup from teammate Sofia Suarez.
  • Hernandez paid her teammate back at the 30:53 mark, as she set up Suarez for a goal of her own to give the Sharks a commanding three-goal lead. Saint Leo managed to get a goal just before the half at the 35:45 mark, but the Sharks still led 3-1.
  • Hernandez scored the game's final goal at the 70:01 mark of the second half on an assist from freshman Lova Korpas. The goal was her third of the week, and the Sharks held the Lions scoreless the rest of the way to secure the 4-1 victory.
