FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University Sharks Volleyball team was defeated in four sets against the #2 ranked University of Tampa Spartans on Saturday afternoon.

• The first set began with each side tallying a pair of points with a block from Caiden Largent and Brantley Chipley, the Sharks held a 3-2 lead.
• Taylor Stockman and Erika Spankus each recorded a pair of kills as the lead grew to 8-6.
• The Spartans took control of the first set, taking a 13-9 advantage.
• Taylor Stockman and Abbie Roth tallied points as the Sharks trailed 20-14.
• The Sharks put together a late rally to cut the deficit to 23-21, with points from Erika Spankus, Taylor Stockman, and Olivia Aniol.
• The Spartans took the first set with a final score of 25-22.
• The second set began with the Sharks trailing 4-1 with a point from Erika Spankus.
• A four-point rally sparked by Erika Spankus, tallying three points which brought the Sharks even with the Spartans at 5-5.
• Brantley Chipley teamed up with Caiden Largent and Abbie Roth for a pair of blocks as the Sharks once again pulled the score even at 10-10.
• Caiden Largent recorded consecutive points for the Sharks as the score reached 12-12.
• Erika Spankus and Caiden Largent each recorded a kill as the Sharks fell behind 17-15.
• Tampa held on to their lead through the end of the second set, finishing with a 25-21 score.
• The Sharks began the third set with points from Taylor Stockman, Erika Spankus, and Avery Piatt, taking the score to 3-3.
• Taylor Stockman began a four-point run for the Sharks, with points coming from Erika Spankus, Olivia Aniol, and Caiden Largent, as the Sharks took an 8-7 lead.
• A service ace from Abbie Roth and a kill from Madelyn Hooper put the Sharks ahead 12-11.
• Taylor Stockman and Erika Spankus each recorded a point, taking the Sharks lead to 14-12.
• Erika Spankus recorded three consecutive points for the Sharks as they regained the advantage at 17-16.
• Both sides exchanged points as the third set score sat at 23-23 following a kill by Taylor Stockman.
• Erika Spankus recorded a kill as the Sharks held off the Spartans at match point, pushing the score to 24-24.
• Caiden Largent, Abbie Roth, and Madelyn Hooper put the Sharks at set point with a 26-25 score.
• The Sharks took the set three win with a 28-26 score.
• Taylor Stockman opened the Sharks scoring in the fourth set with consecutive kills, as the Sharks grabbed a 2-1 lead.
• Erika Spankus continued her career-best performance with three kills, taking the score to 5-4.
• Olivia Aniol and Erika Spankus each recorded points pushing the team lead to 8-6.
• The Sharks put together a strong rally in the middle of the set, with points from Olivia Aniol, Caiden Largent, and Abbie Roth, as the Sharks took a later 18-16 lead.
