FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The top-seeded Nova Southeastern Sharks opened the SSC Tournament with a win, as they defeated the eighth-seeded Barry Buccaneers 3-1 in the quarterfinals on Monday night. The Sharks got two goals from
Alexa Bereczki and one from
Maria Jansen, and consistently applied pressure all night long to advance to the semifinals.

- Bereczki banged in her first score from the left side of the box at the 13:28 mark of the first half, off an assist from Ella Niemelä to give NSU an early 1-0 lead.
- The Bucs responded with a goal at the 40:47 mark to seize momentum right before the half, and the score remained deadlocked 1-1.
- Jansen scored at the 65:40 mark of the second half, off assists from Bereczki and Genesis Hernandez as the Sharks continued applying pressure in front of the Bucs' net.
- Bereczki scored her second goal less than two minutes later at the 67:25 mark. That goal gave NSU a 3-1 lead and provided the final score of the game.
