How it Happened

The Sharks opened with a 9-2 run, capped by a Jaxon Nap three-pointer. Montevallo stayed within six points going into the first media timeout, but the Sharks started pouring it on, stretching the lead to 10 at the 12:51 mark, and then went up 29-8 on a jumper from Graziani. Montevallo finally stopped the bleeding with a three-pointer, but Reeves then scored back to back buckets for NSU. The teams traded baskets for a bit, and NSU's lead stood at 18, 41-23, at the under-4 media timeout. Graziani got another steal and fed Reeves for another layup at the end of the half, opening up a 50-31 halftime advantage for the Sharks.

The two teams continued battling, and NSU held a 60-42 lead at the under-16 media timeout of the second half. The Sharks reeled off ten points in a row, thanks to two threes from Graziani and two layups from Nap. The Falcons finally stopped the bleeding when Derek Moore split two free throws, but the Sharks went up by 30 after Nap converted two free throws at the 10:08 mark. The Sharks' lead hovered between 30 and 20 points for the majority of the second half. Bennett Kayser's three-pointer provided the final margin, and NSU won 94-78.
