How it Happened

First Half - The Sharks jumped out to a 27-8 run capped off by back-to-back layups from Ryan Davis and Dallas Graziani. Puerto Rico-Mayaguez settled in and went on a 7-0 to cut their deficit to 12 points before the under 12 media timeout. Following the timeout, Bennett Kayser would then jump start a 20-3 Shark run to push NSU ahead 47-20 with 7:23 left to play. The Sharks tenacious defense continued to poise problems for the Tarzans as they closed out the half behind back-to-back jumpers from Graziani and Reeves, pushing NSU ahead 69-26 heading into the break.

Second Half – NSU continued to apply pressure defensively as their suffocating defense led to a 31-8 run to open the half, extending their lead to 66 points with just under 10 minutes remaining in the game. Nova Southeastern would go on to secure the 123-52 victory over the Tarzans.
