MIAMI SHORES, FLA. - The Nova Southeastern softball team dropped their SSC opener on the road against the Barry Buccaneers. Cassidy Duskin led the Sharks with two hits.

BOT 3rd – With three runners on base, Barry tripled to center field to go up 3-0.
BOT 4th – The run barrage continued for the Bucs as they tacked on two more runs to go up 5-0.
TOP 5th – Aubrey Hutzler would end the scoring drought for NSU, singling up the middle to bring Cassidy Duskin across home plate.
TOP 7th – NSU continued to fight as Brenna Lokeinsky homered down the left-field line to cut the Sharks deficit to three runs. Shortly after, a sacrifice fly by Tori Copeland brought the Bucs lead to 5-3.
Nova Southeastern continued to battle but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback. The Sharks would drop tonight's SSC matchup against Barry 5-3.

NSU will close out the SSC series against the Bucs tomorrow, in a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
