FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Sharks Baseball team dropped both contests in Friday's doubleheader against the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes, losing game one (4-2) before dropping the second game (3-2). Keyler Gonzalez pitched a new career high in innings (7.2 IP) while striking out 5 in game 1, and Kyler Heyne pitched 7.0 innings and set a new career high in strikeouts (11).

Game One

Georgia Southwestern scored the game's first run, taking a 1-0 lead on a wild pitch in the fourth inning.

In the sixth inning, Georgia Southwestern put another run on the board with an RBI single.

The Sharks attempted to come back in the seventh inning, as Jorge DeGoti led off the inning with a single down the middle, followed by Xavier Moronta driving in DeGoti with an RBI triple. Boris Pena came up to the plate and drove in Moronta with a game-tying RBI single.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Georgia Southwestern doubled, leading to two more runs on the board, extending their lead 4-2.
Game Two

The Sharks opened up the scoring in game 2 with Boris Pena scoring on a wild pitch.

A wild pitch in the bottom of the fourth inning allowed the Hurricanes to tie the game (1-1).

Jorge DeGoti started the rally in the top of the sixth, doubling down the left-field line, and Anthony Stinson drove in the go-ahead run on an RBI single.

Edwin Alicea started the bottom of the inning, walking the lead-off man and recording a strikeout.

Kader Rabagh entered in relief, putting the first batter he faced on with a hit by pitch, striking out the next batter, and allowing the winning run to advance into scoring position.

The Hurricanes walked off the Sharks on a 2-run single, ending the game 3-2.
