Sharks fall against #13 Mocs

LAKELAND, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Sharks Baseball team was defeated 18-9 in a non-conference mid-week matchup against the #13 Florida Southern Moccasins on Tuesday night at Henley Field.

How it Happened
  • The first eight hitters for Florida Southern all reached base in the top of the first inning, allowing FSC to plate five runs, and take a 5-0 lead. 
  • Zeth Rodriguez drove in Jack Cue with an RBI single, putting the score at 5-1 in the top of the second inning. 
  • The Moccasins plated another run in the bottom of the third inning, extending the lead to 6-1. 
  • The Sharks scored three runs with a two out rally in the top of the fourth inning, cutting the FSC lead to 6-4. 
  • Anthony Stinson drove in Cue with an RBI single, before Justin Wachs came through with a two-run single to cap off the inning. 
  • Florida Southern scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, putting the score at 11-4. 
  • Rodriguez came through with his second RBI of the game, driving in Xavier Moronta, cutting the deficit to 11-5. 
  • Florida Southern capitalized on a throwing error by NSU and scored four runs to put the score at 15-5. 
  • Stinson scored on a sacrifice fly by Ronny Medina in the top of the sixth inning. 
  • The Mocs plated three more runs in the bottom of the sixth, making the score 18-6. 
  • Moronta drove in Wachs with an RBI double in the eighth inning. 
  • Boris Pena added a two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning.
