FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The NSU Sharks battled the visiting Florida Tech Panthers to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night, in what was NSU's first game back home after a two-game road trip. The Panthers, who were coming off a conference victory over Palm Beach Atlantic, pulled ahead 1-0 with a goal midway through the second half, but NSU's
Haley Mettrick responded five minutes later to even things out and ultimately end the scoring. For the game, the Sharks outshot the Panthers 11 to 10, with four of those on goal.

- Florida Tech's Lauryn Wood got past the Shark defense and scored the first goal of the game at the 65:59 mark of the second half.
- At the 70:28 mark, Mettrick struck paydirt and scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Maria Jansen, as the Sharks' pressure broke through. Mettrick's goal ended the scoring, but both teams continued applying pressure throughout the half.
With the tie, NSU moves to 4-0-1 on the season and will turn their sights to a road tilt at Lynn University on Wednesday, September 24th at 6pm.
