How it Happened

The Knights got off to an 8-4 start two minutes into the game, and later went up 10-4 after a fastbreak score. The Sharks trailed at the first media timeout, but pulled within four on Dallas Graziani's pullup jumper at the 12:52 mark. Bennett Kayser then got in on the action for NSU, as the freshman scored three straight baskets, but the Sharks still trailed 20-16. The Sharks trailed 23-18 with eight minutes remaining, and still trailed by five after two free throws from Jaxon Nap at the 4:27 mark.

Ross Reeves then ignited a run before the half, as he hit a three-pointer and then five straight free throws to cut the Lynn lead to 31-30. The Sharks got a stop, and Reeves' layup on the ensuing possession gave the Sharks their first lead of the game with just under 90 seconds remaining in the half. However, Lynn countered with two free throws from Braydon Iuli, taking a 33-32 lead at intermission.

The Sharks seized momentum early in the second half, as Ryan Davis made a layup through contact, and Eli Allen scored a putback on Davis' ensuing missed free throw. Nap split a pair of free throws also, and NSU took a 41-37 lead. Jarvis Wright subbed in and provided an immediate impact for NSU, as the guard scored five quick points and the Sharks stretched their lead to 52-45 with just over 12 minutes remaining. The Sharks started wearing on the Knights, as they kept crashing the offensive glass and opened up a 10-point lead after Nap's free throw with 9:05 remaining.

The Sharks maintained distance between themselves and the Knights, as they got scores from Reeves and Graziani to open up a 66-52 lead. That double-digit lead would hold steady, as NSU went up by as many as 15 points. Timely buckets from Reeves and Wright and clutch free throws from Nap proved to be crucial, as they closed out the 77-65 victory.
