How it Happened

The Sharks took an early 10-5 lead in the first half after back-to-back layups from Dallas Graziani and another one from Ross Reeves. They extended the lead to nine on a dunk from Nap and maintained a 20-11 advantage after a jumper from Reeves. Bennett Kayser's baseline pull-up jumper gave the Sharks a double-digit, 27-16 lead with just over nine minutes remaining. Three-pointers from Graziani and later Reeves gave the Sharks a 21-point advantage, as the full-court pressure began bothering Florida Southern. The turnovers kept piling up for the Mocs, and Reeves hit a jumper from the elbow just before the halftime buzzer to go up 59-33.

NSU's lead ballooned to 29 points, its largest of the game, on a three-pointer from Eli Allen at the 17:55 mark of the second half. For the game, the Sharks outscored the Mocs in the paint 58-46 and scored 25 points off turnovers. The Sharks eclipsed the 100-point threshold on a layup from Nap, and they closed out the 104-86 victory to earn their first win in the New Year.
