FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – In back-to-back seasons, the Nova Southeastern women's soccer team has secured a share of the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) regular-season championship, capping off another unbeaten regular season campaign in 2026.
The Sharks finished SSC play with a 6-0-4 conference record, totaling 22 points to share the regular-season crown with Eckerd College. Nova Southeastern closed conference action on a strong note, going 3-0-2 over its final five SSC matches to secure its second consecutive conference championship.
The championship run was highlighted by a resilient finish down the stretch. The Sharks earned a pivotal road draw against Eckerd, the team they would eventually share the conference title with, before posting consecutive conference victories over Embry-Riddle (2-0), Rollins College (3-1), and Saint Leo University (1-0). Genesis Hernandez and Kristina Syragakis played key roles throughout the closing stretch, helping the Sharks maintain their position atop the SSC standings.
The unbeaten conference season further cemented the Sharks' status as one of the premier programs in the Sunshine State Conference. The Sharks capped off conference play with a 1-1 draw against Tampa, extending their unbeaten SSC streak and officially clinching a share of the conference championship on Tuesday night following Florida Tech's loss to Florida Southern, which ensured Nova Southeastern would finish atop the league standings for the second consecutive season.
The Sharks now turn their attention to the Sunshine State Conference Tournament, where they have earned the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 seed Rollins College in the SSC Quarterfinals on November 2 at Amerant Bank Field at NSU Soccer Stadium.
