How it Happened

The Sharks started the game with an 8-2 run, capped by a score from Markayla Holland. The Sharks' then got three straight stops and went up 14-4 on Hailey Chiles' layup at the halfway point of the quarter. NSU took a 23-9 lead after Kaliyah Morales converted two free throws with 2:09 remaining, and they led 27-12 at the end of one.

The Fighting Knights began the second quarter on a 6-2 run, cutting the deficit to 29-18. The Sharks, however, went up 37-21 after Holland's baseline spin move and score at the 5:44 mark. The Fighting Knights briefly cut the deficit to single digits, but NSU got back-to-back buckets from Anaia Hoard to go up 45-31. The Sharks held a 45-33 halftime advantage.

The Sharks regained momentum in the middle frame of third quarter as Holland was fouled on a made three-pointer, and Bridie McCann scored a fastbreak layup on the ensuing possession. That basket put the Sharks up 54-37. Morales' pullup jumper at the 3:40 mark pushed the lead past 20 points, and NSU led 63-43 at the end of the third.

The pace slowed down a bit in the fourth, but the Sharks' defense kept the Knights at bay. They maintained the 20-point lead at the 7:30 mark, but two free throws from Lynn's Katie Tiffan cut the lead to 68-54. Thirteen was as close as the Knights would get as NSU prevailed 76-63.
