VIERA, Fla. - Nova Southeastern went 1-1 at the USSSA Space Coast Games, as they scored a win by blanking Westchester University of Pennsylvania 8-0 before falling 5-4 to Winona State in extra innings. The Space Coast Games served as a final tuneup for the Sharks before getting back into the conference portion of their schedule this weekend.

(GAME 1)
- Ana Richiez scored off of Gianna Russo's RBI single, which got NSU on the board first with a 1-0 lead.
- Destiny Lewis continued her strong showing at the plate, as the senior smashed a three-run shot to left-centerfield that gave NSU a commanding 4-0 lead in the third inning.
- In the fourth, Russo's triple brought Richiez and Brianna Matthews home, extending the lead to 6-0.
- The Westchester pitching unraveled in the fifth, as multiple Sharks were walked and hit by pitches. With the bases loaded, Christina D'Agostino and later, Richiez, were both hit by pitches, scoring two final runs for NSU and cementing the 8-0 victory. Gracelyn Wallace earned the win for the Sharks, her ninth of the season.

(GAME 2)
- Christina D'Agostino scored on Destiny Lewis' RBI single, tacking the first run on the board for the Sharks.
- In the second inning, the Sharks tacked on three more runs as Abbey Moore scored, and later, Brianna Matthews and Savanna Isaacson scored on Ana Richiez' single. That run gave NSU a commanding 4-0 lead.
- The Sharks' advantage held until the bottom of the fourth, as the Warriors began mounting their comeback. They scored one run on an error, cutting the deficit to 4-1.
- In the bottom of the fifth, the Warriors scored on a wild pitch, and later scored again on Hannah Soderbeck's RBI single to draw within 4-3.
- At the bottom of the seventh, Lila McNeil doubled to center field, bringing home the tying run and forcing extra innings with the score tied 4-4.
- Ashlee Santos' sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth sealed the deal and completed the Warriors' comeback, as they won 5-4.
The Sharks move to 15-12 after the Space Coast Games. They will return home for a three-game series against Florida Tech this weekend in SSC action. First pitch is scheduled for Friday, March 13 at 6:00 PM and the two teams will face off again in double-header action on Saturday at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM, respectively.
