Box Score SURPRISE, Ariz. – For the second time in three seasons, the Nova Southeastern Sharks are NCAA Division II National Champions.
Nova Southeastern Women's Tennis entered as the No. 3 national seed and clinched its second NCAA National Championship after a 4-1 victory over No. 4-seed Catawba on Saturday afternoon.
It was a rematch of a meeting back in February, where the Sharks upended the Indians at the ITA D2 Indoor Championships in Indianapolis, which the Sharks took, 4-2, despite dropping the doubles point, like they did on Saturday.
"This NCAA National Championship reflects the dedication, discipline, and competitive excellence of our women's tennis program," Nova Southeastern President and CEO Harry K. Moon, M.D., said. "Throughout the season, these student-athletes demonstrated remarkable teamwork, resilience, and leadership while representing Nova Southeastern University at the highest level. We proudly congratulate our women's tennis team, coaching staff, and everyone involved in this outstanding accomplishment."
"This championship was a reflection of who this team has been all season long," Nova Southeastern Interim Athletic Director Ryan Romero said. "Their grit, resilience, and unwavering belief in one another carried them through every challenge they faced. Today was a microcosm of their entire season. They fought for every point, stayed composed under pressure, and showed the championship character that defines Nova Southeastern Athletics. We could not be more proud of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff for bringing another national championship home to NSU."

Being behind on the team score didn't affect the Sharks as they swam through choppy waters to dominate the Indians in singles.
Noemie Dadoun and
Jana Boegner made it look easy on Court No. 4 and Court No. 5, respectively, earning wins as Dadoun only allowed her to win two games in the match, while Boegner only allowed five game victories.
The third Nova Southeastern point came from the ITA's No. 1,
Kristyna Hranacova, who clinched both sets in 6-3 scores. The clinching point came from the ITA's South Region Rookie of the Year,

It is also the second National Championship won by Nova Southeastern this season, after NSU Women's Swimming clinched its fourth consecutive National Championship back in March.
