FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Men's Soccer team battled Florida Southern to a 3-1 decision in Sunshine State Conference action on Saturday evening at NSU Soccer Stadium. After conceding an early goal, the Sharks responded with a first-half equalizer from Eduardo Fontan Rodriguez, but the Mocs scored twice in the opening eight minutes of the second half to secure the victory.

• Florida Southern opened the scoring in the 11th minute when Ollie Stephens finished a chance off an assist from Pablo Overfeld, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.
• The Sharks found the equalizer just before halftime as Eduardo Fontan Rodriguez scored in the 44th minute off a setup from
Kasper Kitchin, sending the teams into the break tied at 1-1.
• Florida Southern regained the lead less than two minutes into the second half when Tim Baierlein converted a pass from Darcy Moffat in the 47th minute to make it 2-1.
• The Mocs doubled their advantage in the 53rd minute as Baierlein netted his second goal of the match, finishing an assist from Luciano Schiaffini for the 3-1 lead.
The Sharks will return to action on Sept. 30 when they continue Sunshine State Conference play against the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish PBA Soccer/Lacrosse Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. in West Palm Beach, Fla.
